Lavender (H3) flowers, VIII–IX; dull gold foliage in summer. turning reddish bronze in winter; height 46–60cm; spread 61–75cm.
History uncertain: introduced by Ronald E. Hardwick (Newick, Sussex, England) in 1968, or introduced by J. W. Sparkes (Beechwood Nursery, Beoley, Redditch, Worcestershire).
Name is an allusion to the winter foliage colour.
